Freelance
The freelance market is the easiest way to secure a remote position, and it was all I wanted at the time.
Upwork.com was my primary source of clients. During my time on the platform, I maintained a 100% JSS (Job Success Score or Client Satisfaction). I didn’t work there for a while but still have the same JSS.
The most notable projects:
- Big online marketplace in the Czech Republic
- Startup in the area of printing products
- Startup for booking beauty procedures
- Voice assistant
- Data visualization
In interviews with companies, I often heard that “freelancing means you’re not skilled enough,” but I think it’s a different story. There’s always a cost to hiring, and in traditional companies, it’s pretty high. Not only do you need to conduct 3–4 rounds of interviews to find the right person, but you also need to pay compensation if you fire them as “not the right fit.” In freelancing arrangements, the cost of hiring is low, and the cost of firing is low. So even if you hire the wrong person, it won’t cost you much to find a replacement. And in such an environment, I not only achieved 100% client satisfaction but also had long-term contracts.
I made some random screenshots to post here. I have more of them on Upwork.com, but my profile is private at the moment.
